About

Creative Cafe is the brainchild of Creative Imaginations’ two best selling artists, Danelle Johnson and Alison Wong.  This unique creative arts concept is a blend of Danelle’s cutting edge design and passion for education combined with Alison’s nine years as a scrapbook store owner and her success in both product design and marketing.

Danelle Johnson

Danelle’s ever-burning desire to explore design became her passion after acquiring her Master’s in Education Technology. After winning Microsoft’s Technology Teacher of the year award, Danelle choose to raise her children take a break from teaching.  That break quickly lead Danelle to a place where she combined a love for photography, technology and scrapbooking in to one passion.  Since her introduction to designing industry products 9 years ago, Danelle has been on the leading edge of trends for design, education, events, newsgroups and internet marketing.  Her designs extend back to the original Shotz but continue on through a wide variety of Art Warehouse Collections and best selling themed Collections such as Sportz, and continue on with fueling the creative drive behind the recently popular clear stamp rage.  Danelle and her partner, Alison Wong launched Creative Cafe, an entirely new creative arts store program for retailers around the world.

Danelle believes her biggest accomplishment in life is the partnership she has with her husband Marty, while raising their two girls Delaney and McKinley; and maintaining a simple lifestyle of which family values and time together are an everyday necessity.

Some of her industry accomplishments include being a finalist many times for the Creating Keepsakes Reader’s Choice Awards, making appearances on Home Shopping Network and featuring products on QVC.  Danelle was chosen for the Creating Keepsakes scrapbook Hall of Fame in 2002 and teaches numerous classes around the world. Her work has been featured in numerous industry magazines as well as Vogue.  Danelle designs for several companies under the Art Warehouse and Creative Café brand, including licenses with Creative Imaginations, Hampton Arts, Provo Craft, Accu Cut and more.

Danelle loves anything photo related and often finds that as the driving force behind most creative projects.  Fuse that with technology to make something unique and Danelle is off and running chasing the creative possibilities.  Danelle loves the outdoors, enjoys music and is an avid piano player.   She loves to play while the girls dance  and sing.  More than anything, Danelle loves to take life slow and enjoy each and every little piece of it.  You can read about her life “behind the scenes” on her family blog here.

Alison Wong

Alison’s background as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Marketing Manager and Director of Visual Merchandising were all all combined with the scrapbook market in 1998. Her passion for scrapbooking steered her toward a career change, and she opened Memories for the Making, the first scrapbook store in Lodi, California. After four years running the store, a new opportunity arose… this time as a consultant for Creative Imaginations. The challenge became running the store and working for Creative Imaginations at the same time!

Working with Creative Imaginations allowed Alison to share her industry knowledge, and soon she began to design products as well. Studio Basics 101, combined with several collections within the Signature Collection became her new creative outlet. Alison’s role soon expanded, and she started traveling to China to learn about sourcing, product development and several new food groups!

Danelle and Alison met while working together at Creative Imaginations. They both realized that their skills, backgrounds and strengths were the perfect combination to launch a brand together. Danelle and Alison merged their philosophies, drive and wealth of experiences and talents in to one dynamic brand concept, Creative Cafe.
