a clipboard and a layout

August 28th, 2008

with school back in session, i made my daughter a clipboard, put magnets on the back to hang it up on the refrigerator. I put a “to do” list clipped to it each day, so when she comes home from school she can start on the things she needs to do. (ideally, empty backpack, do homework, have a snack, lay out clothes for tomorrow, take a bath, read etc.).

The projects I used here, are all from my favorite - go to Creative Cafe goodies.  I love the LUCKY line, the colors and patters are so happy and versatile.

The clipboard is what I used to display my monthly calendars.  It’s adorable and was very easy to alter.  This size here is perfect for my desk.

I’m also having a little love affair with the Classified Felt Alphabet.   It’s the perfect touch for cards and memory projects alike.

Chipboard and buttons

August 21st, 2008

Creative Cafe buttons and chipboard… how can you go wrong with that combination?!  :)  I love how everything coordinates perfectly, the finishes on the buttons, and the fun chipboard shapes.  On this layout I used some of the chipboard squares/diamonds and some of the buttons to make a border along the bottom of my photo.  Super simple to do but it adds a lot of dimension to the page.  I also used the new die-cut paper and new patterned paper on this as well as some rub-ons, the awesome scalloped border, and cardstock die cuts.

Have a great day!  :) Nicole

A fun gift idea!

August 19th, 2008

A super simple one here, but imagine how Grandma would react getting this little envelope mini filled with photos!

I used the Accucut Business Card Envelope Die, punched holes in them and bound them together with some binder rings.  Then embellished with AccuCut Flowers and Decorative Border Scallops.  Add some photos inside each envelope, and you’ve got a great little gift!

Store Spotlight - Bella Scrapbooking, Union Gap, Washington

August 16th, 2008

This week’s Creative Cafe Store Spotlight is Bella Scrapbooking in Union Gap, Washington!

Julie, the store’s owner had these thoughts to share with us: ”The vision for Bella was to be a fun, creative place with lots of exciting, new product samples to look at and project ideas to be inspired by. Of course, we need to sell products, but that is secondary. Creative Cafe has fit so well with the goals for our store!! The products are great and the project ideas make our job a little easier. :) It’s a wonderful way to make an impact on the community. It’s a positive environment for people to gather and just create.

We are a new store, having just opened in Nov. 2007. It is just my daughter Brooke and myself running the store. We are very excited to be one of just a few Creative Cafe stores in Washington! ”

Look at these adorable lunch trays Bella uses in their Creative Cafe Art Bar! Each project has all its’ own ingredients ready to start your project!

Gotta love this tag book! Just one of the many Creative Cafe projects Bella does at their Art Bar!

“Love” the new dies!

August 16th, 2008

Love Transparency Layout

Love the new AccuCut scalloped ribbon circle die…I cut the center out of this one and added a transparency for the background. I took a pic in a couple of different places, so you could see the transparency. I also used a new die cut word and a butterfly cut out of a polka dot transparency sheet. Lots of fun stuff! Have a happy Friday!! Creasa

Fun Felt

August 9th, 2008

Have you all had a chance to try out the polka dot felt yet?  It is wonderful product that comes in so many colors and adds lots of texture to any project.

For these water bottle favors, I used the felt (from the Lucky Collection) as the base for the wrap.  It is the perfect material for a chilled bottled beverage.  It will soak up any moisture from the bottle sweating and not warp like paper would.

Hope you get a chance to play with some of this fun felt next time you craft.   Have a great weekend!
